Our mission
Art is not separate from the community. It is integral to a happy and healthy way of life and Thunderbird Indigenous Arts is committed to rooting art back into the community where it was always intended to be.
We are creating opportunities for Indigenous artists to express their life experiences, connect with their culture, and engage with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
To use art as the bridge to engage “All” audiences in conversation and education in the truths of our history, and facilitate moving forward in positive ways which impact our children’s futures is a major focus for Thunderbird Indigenous Arts.
Our commitment to truth and reconciliation is manifested in our strong relationships with Indigenous artists and Indigenous community leaders. In all our programs, events and interactions, we strive to advance education, historical and cultural understanding, with both indigenous and non-indigenous people.
